Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Scenepad ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use Scenepad.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Description of Service

Scenepad is a web-based screenplay writing platform that allows users to create, edit, and manage screenplay scripts. The Service provides tools for formatting screenplay elements including scene headings, action, dialogue, character names, and transitions.

User Accounts

To use Scenepad, you must:

  • Create an account with a valid email address
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account.

Content Ownership

You retain full ownership of all screenplay content you create using Scenepad. We do not claim any ownership rights to your scripts, characters, dialogue, or any other creative content you produce.

By using Scenepad, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This license terminates when you delete your content or account.

You are free to export, copy, or use your screenplay content elsewhere at any time. Your creative work belongs to you.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Scenepad to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
  • Upload or create content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity

Service Availability

Scenepad is currently in Alpha stage. We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Immediate availability of all features
  • Data backup or recovery services
  • Compatibility with all devices or browsers

We recommend regularly exporting your screenplay content as a backup. We are not liable for any loss of data or content.

Intellectual Property

The Scenepad platform, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Scenepad service without our written permission.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause or notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

You may delete your account at any time. Upon account deletion, your personal information and screenplay content will be permanently deleted, except where retention is required by law.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scenepad is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement of third-party rights
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or screenplay content, arising from your use of the Service.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scenepad and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of another.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
